Multiplier Event Recap: Networking for Improved Career Guidance and Counseling

  • 21-12-2024

On October 23, 2024, the networking event “Ways to Improve Career Guidance and Counseling” took place at EuropaPunkt Bremen. The event provided a platform for exchanging ideas and strategies to enhance career guidance in schools, prevent training dropouts, and promote social inclusion.

Participants, including teachers, social educators, career counselors, and other professionals, were warmly invited to learn about the results of the Orienta4VET project. This project focuses on strengthening vocational education and training (VET) and developing innovative resources to support career counseling processes.

Program Highlights:

  1. Insights from Practice: A career counselor and social worker from a school in Bremen shared current challenges in career guidance.
  2. Project Presentation: The outcomes of the Orienta4VET project were showcased, including:
  3. An interactive guide to support career counselors and educators in preventing training dropouts.
  4. An interactive map to navigate vocational training pathways.
  5. A comprehensive training resource integrating both tools to provide effective support for students and professionals.
  6. Workshop: Case studies allowed participants to experience the project outcomes firsthand and evaluate their practical applicability.
  7. Networking: Over coffee and cookies, participants connected and exchanged ideas.

The event facilitated productive discussions and inspired participants to explore new approaches to career guidance. We extend our gratitude to all participants for their commitment and valuable contributions, which are helping to advance career guidance in Bremen. Additionally, we are taking away numerous suggestions and constructive feedback from the event, which we will now evaluate as part of the Orienta4VET project to further enhance its quality and impact.

We look forward to continuing the implementation of the Orienta4VET project’s outcomes and building a strong foundation for vocational education together.
